Beta testing WP 2.9

Beta testing WP 2.9

So I decided it was time  to go through the beta version of 2.9 and get ready for all the new changes. I have to say kudos to the WordPress team. They have managed to add a lot of functionality in a clean and non-obtusive way. I always worry about new code changes that may mess with novice bloggers. Major changes can be scary for clients who barely ever understood what they were doing in the first place. The new version offers a lot of new functionality that is going to revolutionize theme development, but doesn’t necessarily need to effect current users. And it does just that. New themes that include the new functionality will turn on the new features on the backend, but if you are happy with the way things are, then not much will change. Even the new image editing software, which I was concerned about how complicated that might make adding images, is almost hard to notice unless you are looking for it. And editing images is a lot simpler then I would have envisioned. I can’ t wait to start developing themes on the new model. It is going to make sites like mine a lot easier to manage. Thank you WordPress!
