So this years fireworks video wasn’t as high quality as last years. I decided that due to that, I would just crap it all up with some filters in premier. I thought this was kind of fun.
Ever thought about creating a video project in the old 4×3 non-HD version. For most web video, that is still a fine way to communicate. In fact, in some layouts, it works best. I was thinking about creating some video projects and considering doing them in non HD for a couple of reasons. The major one being that disk space, editing, and uploading time would be minimized by keeping the video quality down. Also, if you are not going to worry about lighting and scripting, then HD seems a little unnecessary. Long story short, I thought if I would be shooting in 4×3, it opened up a couple options. I could use both my Vado HD camera turned down to 4×3 VGA mode and my Nikon Coolpix in Video Mode. They save in different formats which each has their perks, but I needed a field test to compare them side by side to see if…
A. Would they work together for a multi-camera shoot.
B. If not, which one is better video quality
C. Which one is better at Audio capture.
Add to all this that I wanted to play with a new website tool that allows you to edit your videos free using a standard A > B editor with simple text overlays and a separate audio track.
