Life has been a wild ride. I haven’t been writng as much as I would have hoped. I have been super productive though. Probably the biggest distraction for me right now is AI generated artwork. I have access to a few different AI technologies and I have been working with each of them to see what they are capable of. The AI art generation has a long list of limitations that I discovered early on, but have also found some creative ways to work around them. I don’t know that I will blog any more this year. I did start a pet project creativing writing blog at https://ship.nxil.com/. To even begin this writing project, I had to develop the platform for accessing it. I wanted the user to have an interactive and emersive experience accessing the story. So the entire story is told through a ships log and the entries. Although you can read along in real time, I am aiming at a project that can be printed as a book one day. This stroy is going to be a real adventure, both to write and to read. At least that is the hope, but I am truely excited about it and I rarely get this excited about things. I am already behind on my writing goals for it, but the format and story leans itselft into solutions for this. I won’t go into details because I am likely to drop spoilers, but just check it out.

One of the great things I have found in the AI art generation available, is the ability to create illustrations for books. Which is leading me to think that I should finish writing the book that I have left partionally written for the last couple years. It’s a fun story focused for young teen raeders, but many of different ages has read what I have so far and enjoyed it, so it’s important that I finish it. Having beautiful art for it has really inspired me to get back to it. I will probably also create a method for users to read the first half of the book for free online until I have finished it. I may require people give me their email before I allow them to read the finished book, just so I can increase my chances for actual publishing. I feel like that would be a nice goal, to actually have a published book. Not just a vanity printing, but to have a real publisher print it.

I will try to update my blog more. I have been using twitter more this year. I have been enjoying it and oddly enough, I seem to be more informed now than people who watch the news on TV. I have taken a winter break from video sites like youtube and tiktok, mostly because great distraction that video content causes for me. I need to work on creating more content while watching less. Especially when it comes to the noise that the algorithms push.

By the spring, I will no doubt be creating a lot more video content. For now, I am busy exploring my own imagination through AI. And I’m having a lot of fun with it.
