In the late twentyteens, right before COVID, I was working from home and well before the isolation from the pandemic, I was isolated simply because I worked alone at home all day in a big empty house. I discovered discord and the online communities where you could just hang out in a room full of people through a voice chat. I made a lot of friends through the years staying available in a voice chat on a server of thousands, but a few of those relationships became real connections. Support systems in a way. One such friend has stayed in touch over the years and reached out for advice and emotional support through the struggles of life, of which she overcame many and as a friend and mentor I had the honor of seeing that growth and witnessing the change from overwhelmed to confidence. During my days of song writing, I felt moved to write this song for them to encourage them. They actually illustrated the album art for it as well. I’m still proud of the person they are and having witnessed so much of the struggle, I have a unique perspective on life that has contributed to my own personal growth that I credit to our friendship.
