This was my first attempt at putting together an album. I was writing songs on the regular, just to process and deal with my emotions, and I had this set of songs that were deeply personal and difficult, but at the same time, the process of composing and developing them became freeing. Much like journaling is good for the soul because it contains the thoughts and releases them from your mind, by releasing this EP, I bottled up and contained a lot of the grief and emotional pain I had been dealing with and was able to put it on a shelf and call it done. After recording and publishing all the songs, I later revisited the project using SUNO, because as much as the process was very personal, I couldn’t stand hearing my own voice. These were covered by SUNO using version 4.5 I believe, which was still a little buggy and less sophisticated than current models. I may re-release this album in the future using a modern version, but I have also considered working on a follow up volume 2. I do enjoy listening to a good sad song from time to time.
